I love a good casual look that’s made up of a tee and some jeans, but I love it even more when a tee and denim can make people do double takes!
Take this look, for example. When you really think about it, it’s a pretty basic formula. A tee shirt and denim. Sure, that denim is in the form of skirt but it’s still denim, right? If that’s all this look was, it would still be a pretty cute outfit. But when you bring in details like rose embroidery and gingham, it takes a simple look to another level.
First of all, I love this rose tee so much. It’s made by Two Songs (Aimee Song and her sister, Dani) and 50% of the proceeds from this tee goes to support women with breast cancer. It’s not available in pink anymore but there’s a super cute dusty blue that I’m honestly considering buying too. Second, this skirt. Oh my goodness. This denim skirt would probably look like any other skirt if it weren’t for the glorious gingham trim so a big thank you goes out to the fashion gods for this piece. I’m smitten with gingham this season (see here and here) so obviously this one was an immediate yes for me. And pairing the two pieces together is like casual outfit magic.
